Protect Yourself from Identity Theft

Stop, Chop, and Lock

·      STOP excess credit card offers by calling 1-888-5-OptOut.

·      CHOP up or shred old receipts and any kind of solicitation that involves your personal identity, instead of tossing it in the trash.

·      LOCK up social security cards and other important documents so that prying eyes won’t have easy access

Remember: Identity theft victims often know the person that steals their identity. It could be a family member, friend, or co-worker.

Another way to protect your privacy is to be cautious of requests for your personal information. Learn more about phishing scams.
